Sorry no pictures

I'm currently in my third week of nannying, one more to go.  The work is long and sometimes tiring but I enjoy it.  I'm actually sad it's ending and I don't know what I'm gonna do for the week before uni starts.  I guess I'll have to take care of uni stuff but uch.
Since I returned to Melbourne from Sydney I've gone out a number of times.  I went out to Brunswick St one Sat night (while my American friends were still down under).  Brunswick St is this cool grungy bar strip.  An Australian friend from seminary took us out there (not Naomi!).  We went to two bars.  The first one was very grungy - there was techno music and the ppl were all "dancing."  I was observing the scene near the wall with the speakers blasting in my ears.  I had the pleasure to experience a bit of the bar vibe as someone spilt a beer on me (and simply blamed some girl for bumping him) and I somehow cut my ankle - it was bleeding like mad.  Overall I'm glad we visited that bar though!  Then we moved onto a second bar which I liked way better.  It had a live band playing decent music and there was room to breathe.  (A few ppl hit on us, as well, which is always entertaining but there were no mishaps unlike the first bar.)
I also went to the Melbourne aquarium - it only took me an hour and half to go through thoroughly - which is quite pathetic.  There were pictures of Hammerhead sharks everywhere but the aquarium only had two and you could hardly see them - my friend was excited when she spotted a hammerhead shadow.  I went to a maritime museum is Sydney - that was free - which had a much better section on sharks - even tho everything was dead.  Back to the (pricey) aquarium: there was also a penguin display that was so sad - there was poop everywhere.  BUT there were some really cool fish to see!
One night I went out to the movies.  I saw The King's Speech.  Uber exciting! The movie was good!
I also went swimming at one of Naomi's friend's house.  (and I went swimming with Caleb- the toddler I nanny - in my next post I'll write about nannying).
And I walked to Coles the supermarket - it took me two days to find - literally - i looked for it one day - couldnt find it and went out a second time - i bought myself a chocolate as a reward for finding it the second time.  It's a good thing I found it on the second outing too cuz it poured that day and I got soaked.  It looked like I jumped in a pool with my clothing on - including a jean skirt and booties - it took days for my shoes to fully dry.
I'm sure I've had more (mis)adventures - I just can't remember them.

Just to make you happy

Im officially tired.  Kids are taxing - I don't know why people have them.  Maybe cuz they are cute, but Im not so sure.  Anyway, I took so long to write in my blog that too much has happened for me to remember it all - let alone write it down.  I may be repeating myself - but I dont care enough to double check.  So, I've gone to Phillip Island which was stunning:

(my shoe got swept up in a wave and I nearly lost it)

(A kangaroo!)

(Just so that you know it's really me)

We went to other parts of Phillip Island as well that we're different yet just as beautiful, but by then I wasn't taking photos - my camera died - no joke!

On the way to Phillip Island we stopped by a garden - but there werent flowers:

(we saw some bush - which had recently had a controlled fire)

(and this is Yut or as I call it - a car-truck)

We also went to Brighten Beach - just made up the spelling:

And we went to Eureka Tower which is the tallest building in Meblourne.  We went in this little cube/box thingy that went out over the city and you could see through the floor.
We also went to St Kilda beach (its nearby) to see to punguins - this is one of my good photos - I have a few more).  We went to St Kilda during the day as well but i didnt take pictures of those outings.  during the day we saw Luna Park - the entrance is a huge mouth that you walk through and we wandered though the market there.
Then it was off to Sydney.  The plane was obviously delayed - but only bu half an hour - thats nothing!
When we arrived I wandered the streets alone as my friends checked in cuz the room was booked for two ppl.  I went to a park - I cant remember the name and befriended this Ibis.
Then I went into the room.  It was small but expensive!
 And the view was great!
But I was in Sydney!
(bad photo - I know.  If you want a good one google it!)

We went to the Royal Botanical Gardens

And I got lost here.

Cuz I needed one of these.
Then we woke up uber early the next morning and went to the Blue Mountains - its stunning!
(its called the blue mountains cuz its covered in trees (I cant speel the name of but koalas eat then - not the ones that made up this forest tho cuz they are the wrong variation) and these trees have oils that evaporate and the way the light hits the oil makes everything look blueish - so I was told - cuz when I went it was really rainy and foggy and everything was white.

So cool!

(oh yeah - its a temperate rain forest)
We hiked down to the bottom of a valley and then took this railway up.  its the steepest train track - at a 52/53 degree angle - i cant remember exactly which.

there are 3 rocks that are uber famous here cuz of a story.  In the story 3 beautiful sisters fall in love with 3 brothers from diff tribes.  the tribes dont like each other so the brothers try to run off with the sisters. this starts a war.  A sorcerer turns the sisters into rocks to protect them but he is killed during the war so the sisters are stuck as rocks forever.

these are the sisters
Then I started nannying! (More soon about what Ive done since nannying - but no photos - cuz I didnt take any!)

Pictures and a bit of storyline

Ive uploaded my photos so heres a peek.

The homes here are beautiful. The landscaping is insane.

(This is actually NOT eco-friendly - bore water means that the ppl drilled deep into there ground to get water which should really be left in its natural state cuz the are too conceited to allow their grass to go yellow)
BUT the homes are mostly eco-friendly.  Naomi's home (and many others) has a water tank in the backyard that collects rainwater and uses it for the toilet and washing machine.  (I need to take a picture of it).  Her family is also getting a solar panal.  And all the homes I have been in have switches by the outlets to turn them on only when they are in use.
I realize that was long - sorry - Im passionate!

Here the cars drive on the wrong side of the raod - Im just getting used to safely checking both ways before crossing the road.  The trams exist and go down the roads.  And the mailman rides a motercycle down the sidewalk.
I saw all this after I moved my belongings into the Nanny home.

The bed is huge (which is a relief after sharing the narrowest twin bed in Sydney).  And the room is spacious.
~
Well this is a lot to take in so I will God-willing post pictures from outings soon.

writing in a blog is actually annoying

I think I'm over my blog! I just don't know how to write about everything I've done.  I figure it would be easier to post photos BUT the thingy that connects my camera to the computer is locked in the nanny home AND I havent been taking many photos - my friend Elisheva has been queen of the camera so I dont feel the need to take any - i'll just get copies - it only took a year last time I did something like that - plus elisheva's camera is wayy better than mine. which reminds me - one of my camera batteries already turned to poop - i didnt even drop it - it just decided it only likes to last for 10 minutes and then die - and im not exaggerating.  Anyway - shabbos was nice. the wedding I crashed was beautiful! I went to phillips island and saw the most beautiful beaches and koalas and penguins.  Oh and the weather is cold here - I mean warmer than home but I'm always in a zip-up - I'm gonna need to buy a winter coat.
Well I miss you all.  Except you!
